The Last Supper Club situated on 21 Blair Street, Wellington, New Zealand was redesigned by Simon Parks. I was given the task to design a new restaurant. I had to develop a new concept and identity for the restaurant. This identity was integral to the design and aesthetic that I would propose.
I began by sourcing drawings of the original building and finding a range of relevant precedents for this project.
The emphasis on this project was the transition between spaces. I had to consider the transition between the street/reception, kitchen/bar, restaurant/bathrooms. Detailing was also a prominent part of this project. I needed to look beyond the surfaces and show how they work together and interact with each other. Cutlery, linen, glassware, flatware and chairs were also specified to add identity to the schemes.
